Update your KBox

A quick one-time step unlocks automatic updates & a big new feature release.

If your KBox says "You are on the latest dev (master)" when you press Check for updates — or you just want the new features — this fixes it in about 3 minutes. You do it once; after that your KBox updates itself from its own dashboard. Your pool, wallet and WiFi settings are all kept.

1Enter your KBox's address

2Open a command window

Press Start, type powershell, press Enter.

3Copy this & paste it in

Enter your address above…
Press Enter to run it. It'll ask for a password — type fa and press Enter. Nothing shows on screen as you type the password — that's normal, just type fa and hit Enter.

4Done!

You'll see a few lines ending in "updated … rebooting", then the window closes — that means it worked. Wait ~2 minutes, then open your KBox dashboard again. From now on, Check for updates works normally and you never need to do this again.

Something went wrong?
  • "ssh is not recognized" (older Windows): open Settings → Apps → Optional Features → Add a feature, install OpenSSH Client, then try again.
  • "Permission denied" — the password is exactly fa (lower case), typed blind. Try once more.
  • "Connection timed out" — double-check the address from the KBox screen, and make sure your computer is on the same WiFi/network as the KBox.
  • First-time prompt asking "Are you sure you want to continue (yes/no)?" — type yes and Enter.
  • Still stuck? Message us — we'll happily walk you through it.

You can't harm your KBox with this. It keeps your settings, and if it can't finish it simply stays on the current version.
